replace your central air conditioning system
or window air conditioner, choose a new,
high-efficiency model, and let CPS Energy
help you with a rebate.
Currently,
CPS Energy is offering rebates when you buy
and install qualifying high-efficiency
central air conditioning and heat pump
systems or window units.
Rebates for
central air conditioning systems and central
heat pump systems are determined by the
overall seasonal energy efficiency ratio, or
SEER. Central units that qualify for
a CPS Energy rebate must have a SEER rating
of 15.0 or greater. Your licensed
air conditioning contractor or service
technician can provide that information.
Window unit air conditioners that qualify
for a rebate must be ENERGY STAR® certified.
Window units of 8,000 BTU or less qualify
for a one-time $50 credit. Window units
greater than 8,000 BTU qualify for a $100
credit.

Efficiently
Ducts are used to
distribute
conditioned air
throughout a home
with forced-air
heating and cooling
systems. A duct
system is the
collection of tubes
that distribute this
air to each of the
home's rooms. It can
make a big
difference in both
the cost and the
effectiveness of
heating and cooling
your home. It also
has an important
effect on the
comfort and health
of your home's
occupants.
About 20 percent of
the air that moves
through your home's
duct system may
be lost due to
leaks, holes and
poorly connected
ducts. The likely
result is higher
utility bills and
more difficulty
keeping your house
comfortable, no
matter how the
thermostat is set.
The performance of
your air flow system
may be compromised
and in need of
repair or
replacement if: You
have high summer and
winter energy bills;
You have rooms that
are difficult to
heat and cool; Your
ducts are located in
an attic,
crawlspace, or the
garage; Or you find
tangled or kinked
flexible ducts in

Energy is offering a

and air conditioning
(HVAC) system and
for testing that
shows improvement to
the HVAC
system. Rebates are
not available for

With the passage of President
Obama’s Economic Stimulus Bill,

credit if they purchase certain
types of heating, ventilation and
air conditioning (HVAC) systems,
water heating equipment, or make
other energy-related improvements to
their homes between January 1, 2009
and December 31, 2010. As a leader
in enabling homeowners to take
control of their own energy
management, Trane already offers
systems that may help you save up to
60 percent on your energy bill. To
add to that savings, Trane offers
many products that are eligible
under this new energy tax credit
law. Depending on the type of system
or product purchased, it is possible
to qualify for a tax credit of up to
$1,500 on your 2009 or 2010 income
tax return. |
